Laurence B. Hunter, Jr. 75, of Whitman died Tuesday December 23rd in the Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lillian (Taylor) Hunter of Whitman. He was born in Weymouth, son of the late Laurence B. and Adrienne (Manuel) Hunter. Laurence grew up in Whitman and has been a resident most of his life. He was a graduate of Whitman High School in 1950.He was employed by the Telephone Company for more than 35 years as a repair man. Laurence severed his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean War from 1950-1953. He enjoyed fishing, boating and bird feeding. He also enjoyed being with his family and was always fixing things.
In addition to his beloved wife Lillian, he is survived by his children, Bruce K. Hunter of Florida, Catherine Hunter of Pembroke, Laurence W. Hunter of Brockton and Dwayne A. Hunter of Pembroke, his sister Elizabeth DiMestico of Whitman; grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 2 ;several nieces & nephews. He was also the brother of the late Adrienne Staples and Alice Connolly.
Graveside services will be held on January 10th at 10:00am in the Colebrook Cemetery, all other services will be private by the request of the family.
