Addison Bree Barrett, of East Bridgewater became one of God's angels on Monday, Dec. 22nd, she was 19 months old. Early on the morning of April 27th, 2007 her parents were blessed by Addison Bree Barrett’s entrance into this world. On June 12th, 2007 their lives changed forever when she received the diagnosis of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA-1), a terminally progressive genetic disease that affects nerves and muscles, causing severe weakness in the neck, trunk, arms and legs. Addison was a perfect little angel. Though limited by her disease, she so loved her daily walks and listening to birds chirping, drawing with her markers, reading books, playing with foam blocks and big wooden puzzles, weekly therapeutic swim, and daily tubs and massages with ‘mommy and daddy’. As she grew older, she learned her ABCs and numbers and loved to show off her skills to all those who would give her attention. Her favorite color was red and she loved any book that involved ladybugs and other critters. Her beautiful eyes with long lashes and infectious smile would light up a room. She had such a bright shining spirit and was loved by everyone who met her. Though her time was short, her journey seemed long. Along that journey she brought so much joy to this world. We will always keep with us Addison's beautiful smile, her indomitable spirit and unconditional love and happiness.
