Anne R. (Milligan ) Mahan, 55 of Medway died unexpectedly December 22 in her home. She was the wife of Joseph E. Mahan Jr. who were married for the past 32 years.
Born in Framingham, June 8, 1953, the daughter of Norma (Chase) Milligan Houghton of Medway and the late Robert Milligan, she was raised in Medway and had lived in the Town her entire life.
Mrs. Mahan was a 1971 graduate of Medway High School and played field hockey, gymnastics, tennis, along with being a cheerleader.
Mrs. Mahan graduated from Leister College and the Bryman Medic School. Anne was formerly an EMT and worked for the town of Medway in the 1970’s.
She also worked as a nurse’s aide and medical assistant at various places in the area. Her favorite job was being a stay at home mom to raise her three sons. Her favorite activities were horseback riding, watching her son’s sports games, and spending time with her granddaughter, Ellie.
She also enjoyed vacationing down at Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her sons, Andrew and his wife, Colleen of Medway, Steven and his wife, Marissa of Medway and Matthew Mahan of Medway.
She also leaves a brother, David Milligan and his wife, Susan of Norfolk, a sister, Jane Latin and her husband, Chet of Milford, CT, a sister, Marian Kennedy of Bellingham and her granddaughter, Ellie Mahan of Medway.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family that will greatly miss her.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29 in Christ Episcopal Church on School Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
