Obituary

Sr. Mary Anne Laughlin, SND, 82, of the Sisters of Notre Dame died December 22, 2008 at her residence in Manchester.
Born in Waltham, MA on March 26, 1926, she was the daughter of John and Bertha (Shufelt) Laughlin. She entered the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1943, made her first vows in 1946 and her perpetual vows in 1951.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College and a master’s degree from Boston College both in Boston, MA.
Sr. Laughlin taught Religion and Latin in Massachusetts at Boston, Lynn, Woburn, Peabody, Lowell and Worcester. She later served as youth minister at St. Joseph Parish in Salem and as co-director at Joseph House Contemplative Retreat Center in Manchester. She also was an adjunct professor at UNH Manchester.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes a sister in law, Elizabeth Hill of Newton, MA and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Loughlin and Aubrey Hill, and a sister, Kathleen Lehane.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. Marie Church. Burial was at Notre Dame du Lac Cemetery, Worcester, MA.
