WORCESTER____Theresa J. (Kruczynski) Serafin, 80, of Worcester, died Monday December 22, 2008 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband, Matthew J. Serafin died in 1982.
She leaves two sons, Matthew F. Serafin and his wife Martha E. of Shrewsbury and Frank J. Serafin of Worcester; three brothers, Victor Kruczynski and Peter Kruczynski both of Worcester and Chester Kruczynski of Shrewsbury; a sister, Jean Zukas of Worcester; two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Stanley and Leo Kruczynski and Angela “Nell” Stakun. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Stanley J. and Alexandra (Lewonczyk) Kruczynski and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Serafin worked for the City of Worcester Parks & Recreation Dept. 20 years before retiring. Previously, she was a former insurance broker, co owner and operator for many years of the Matthew J. Serafin Insurance Agency. Theresa was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its St. Cecilia Choir, the Our Lady of Czestochowa Women’s Guild, the Polish Social & Political Club and was the Treasurer for the District 4 Little League.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 27 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
