James (Jim) J. Duffy, of Waltham, formerly of Brockton died unexpectedly on December 19th at the age of 46. Devoted son of the late Anne L. (Donovan) and James W. Duffy ; beloved brother of Maureen and her husband Jeffrey A. Abber of Malden and Louise A. Duffy of Quincy. Adored uncle of Annie, Zachary and Caitlin Abber of Malden. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jim was a graduate of Brockton High School and Southeastern Massachusetts University (SMU).
Jim formerly worked for 6 years as an accounts payable manager for First Investment Company of Wellesley and for the past 3 years as an accounts payable manager for Winstanley Enterprises of Concord MA. Prior to that he worked at Nobelpharma USA Inc. and Alphabet Press both in Natick.
He enjoyed spending summers in Falmouth with his good friends from SMU and Taunton. He was an avid Boston sports fan but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his nieces and nephew. Better known as Uncle Jimmy to Annie, Zach and Cait, he brought joy and laughter to all around him. He was kind, warm-hearted and amused everyone with his sly sense of humor. We will miss him an immeasurable amount and he will be in our hearts forever.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 10:30. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery
