Obituary

WORCESTER-William P. Callahan, Sr., 90, passed away Monday, December 22. He leaves his wife, Helen V. (Kalita) Callahan; four sons, Daniel F. and his wife, Anita Callahan of Worcester, William P. Callahan, Jr. and his wife, Katherine Callahan of West Boylston, James M. Callahan and John P. Callahan both of Worcester; 10 grandchildren, his great granddaughter, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Callahan and two sisters, Helen Wood and Catherine Abdow.

He was born in Worcester the son of Patrick J. and Helen T. (Cullity) Callahan and graduated from St. John’s High School. Mr. Callahan was a WW II Army veteran. He worked for many years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office before retiring.

A visiting hour will be held Wednesday, December 24 from 8:30 until 9:30 AM AT CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass to follow at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
