Lucy (Bettencourt) Chaves, 93, of Tiverton, RI passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home in Bristol, RI. She was wife of the late Antone J. Chaves, Jr.
Born in Tiverton, daughter of the late John and Mary (Souza) Bettencourt, she was a lifelong resident of Tiverton. Mrs. Chaves was a Communicant of St. Madeline’s Church, Tiverton and was a member of the St. Madeline’s Women’s Guild.
Survivors include 2 sons: Alan J. Chaves of Tiverton and Donald A. Chaves of Tiverton; 2 grandchildren: Jeffrey Chaves and Tracy Chaves; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Richard A. Chaves.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline’s Church at 10:30 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 3 - 6 P.M.
Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
