Robert C. Davis, 83, Clarksville, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Pastor Mark Totten officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 4, 1925 in Montgomery County son of the late Staton Davis, Sr. and Ruby Davenport Davis. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was owner of Globe Shoe Store at Ft. Campbell, KY. Mr. Davis was a founding member of Grace Bible Church, a member of the Gideons, American Legion Post #7, a lifetime member of APSU Alumni Association; and a former member of the Clarksville City Council. Survivors include a niece, a great-niece, numerous cousins, and a longtime friend, Alfred Hoosier. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
