Albert P. Bassignani, 81, of Medway died, Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the devoted husband of Marie C. (Rossetti) Bassignani for 57 years.
Born in Franklin on June 18, 1927, he was a son of the late Enrico and Isolina Bassignani. Mr. Bassignani was a resident of Medway since 1951 and formerly resided in Franklin.
He graduated from Franklin High School in 1945 and Dean Junior College and was a WWII Navy veteran. Before his retirement at the age of 62, Mr. Bassignani was a construction supervisor at Vappi Corporation.
Mr. Bassignani was a member of the Medway VFW Post #1526 and the former St. Joseph’s Men’s Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time in Naples, FL where he resided for 11 years after retirement.
Besides his wife, he is survived by; a daughter, Mary Ellen Bassignani of Medway and three sons, Albert Bassignani, Jr. of Bedford, TX, Peter Bassignani of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and John Bassignani of Dallas, TX.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Ashley Bassignani of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Phillip Bassignani of Stewart, FL and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Arthur Bassignani, Jenny Smith, and Matty, Lindo, and Freddie Bassignani.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, December 24 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m.
