Obituary

Louis C. "Uncle Lou" Barone, a 48 year resident of Saugus and formerly of Chelsea, died suddenly on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 71 years old.

Lou was born in Boston on March 13, 1937. He grew up in Chelsea where he attended Chelsea Public Schools and graduated from Boston Trade High School in Brighton. Lou enlisted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Lou worked for over 44 years for Major Theatre Equipment Company as a stage hand setting up many theatre's and cinema's thoughout the country. Lou loved to travel, go out to dinner with friends every Saturday night, play cribbage, cook his specialty pizza's and most of all he adored his wife, 4 daughters and their husbands and his 8 grandchildren.

Lou is the loving husband of 50 years and best friend of Josephine K. (Tintindo) Barone. He is the devoted father of Dorothea Duggan and her husband Paul of Saugus, Roxanne Torelli and her husband Louis of Lynnfield, Melody Adolph and her husband Richard of Cape Coral, Florida, and Heidi Angelo and her husband Scott of Lynnfield. He is the loving grandfather of Eric and Katelyn Adolph, Kyle and Ryan Duggan, Hunter and Madison Angelo, Jamie and Toni Torelli. He is the beloved brother of Gloria Contardo and her husband Richard of Lynnfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and several beloved lifetime friends.

Lou's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, followed by his Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
