Clare A. Ross, a lifelong Woburn resident passed away at her home on Saturday morning, December 20, , at the age of 86. She was the wife of Raymond E. Ross Jr.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Gillis) and Charles L. Brine. Clare graduated Woburn High School with the class of 1939 and lived here all of her life. She worked for over twenty-five years for GTE Labs of Waltham. Following her retirement she spent her summers in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and for the last ten years in Safety Harbor, Florida.Clare was devoted to her family particularly, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes included, square dancing, walking cooking and reading.
In addition to her husband Ray, she is survived by her three sons, Raymond F. Ross III and his wife Patricia of Shelton, CT. formerly of Bedford, Daniel W. Ross and his wife Carol of Reading and Richard P. Ross of Woburn, two daughters, Nancy Rogers and her husband David of Billerica, Sally Sterling and her husband Al of Bedford, NH., her grandchildren Matthew, Gregory and Michael Ross, Christine Rogers, David Rogers Jr. and Susan Perrier, Andrew and MaKayla Sterling, Caroline and Brian Ross. Also her great grandchildren, Timothy Rogers, David Rogers III, Melissa Rogers, Brendon and Brett Perrier. Three sisters, Mary O'Connor, Ruth Coleman both of Woburn and Alice Hannus of Washington, NH., and a brother Joseph Brine of Woburn. Also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Charles and Donald Brine and a sister Margaret Power
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Tuesday, December 23, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn at 11.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home are on Tuesday morning prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
