Obituary

TAUNTON – Liduina (Avelar) DaSilva, wife of the late Jose DaSilva, died at Marian Manor on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. She was 89.
Born on the island of St. Jorge, Azores, the daughter of the late Sergio and Maria (Vieira) Avelar, she moved to the U.S. in 1970.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she was employed as the rectory housekeeper there, for many years.
She leaves 2 sons, Sergio DaSilva and his wife Jacqueline of Berkley and Henrique DaSilva and his wife Helena of Lisbon, Portugal; a daughter, Vivalda Robens and her husband Albano of E. Taunton; a sister, Eduarda Avelar of Portugal, 6 grandchildren, Rui DaSilva, Paula Silva, Suzanne Moore, and Eric, Krystal and Julie Robens; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Ann Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Sergio Avelar, Manuel Avelar and Conceicao Brandao.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass, to be held at St. Anthony Church, on Monday, Dec. 22nd at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton. www.silvafuneralhome.com
