Doris M. Davis, 96, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH. Mrs. Davis was born in Somerville, MA on August 27, 1912, a daughter of the late Carl and Jennie I. (Tansey) Allen. She was a resident of Derry since 1969, formerly living in Brighton, MA. Mrs. Davis was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. She enjoyed line dancing with the Derry Seniors for 14 years, and enjoyed senior activities, especially the trips they took together.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn J. Pantano of Derry; two sons, Allen Davis and his wife Arlene of Natick, MA, and Wayne Davis and his wife Karen of Sanbornton, NH; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester F. Davis in 1984, and her daughter Ethel Dudley in 2005.
Calling hours were held on Monday, December 22nd from 9:00am – 10:45am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday at 11:30am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry at a later date.
