Obituary

WORCESTER-Vasil “Bill” Duhani, 88, of Worcester, died Wednesday, December 17th surrounded by his family in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Zaharoula (Anninou) Duhani; his son, Toma Duhani and his wife Lena of Shrewsbury; a brother, Michael K. Duhani of Fayetteville, NC; three grandchildren, Alexander, Christina and Michael; and many nephews, nieces and cousins in the United States, Albania and Greece. A brother, Stavros Duhani predeceased him.

He was born in Lashova, Albania, the son of Konstaninos and Eleni (Mihali) Duhani. In 1935 Mr. Duhani immigrated to Constantinople where he started his family and owned a pastry shop; in 1971 he immigrated to Worcester. He worked as a machinist for Reed and Prince for many years and later as a baker at The Broadway on Water Street. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

The funeral is Monday, December 22nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, December 21st from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
