Mary G. “Trudy” (Maloney) Carr, of Brockton died December 17, 2008 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Avon, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Catherine E. (Smith) Maloney and was a graduate of Avon High School. After raising her family, Trudy returned to work as a Marketing Director for Condyne Steel Buildings. For many years she was active in the St. Edward School Guild and had been a 50 year member of Thorny Lea Golf Club. She enjoyed entertaining, cross country skiing and travel, but especially golfing and shopping with friends. Most of all Trudy participated and shared in the lives of her children, her treasured six grandchildren and their spouses and nine great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her warm smile and great sense of style.
She is survived by her children Suzanne O’Donnell and her husband Robert of Brockton, Paul Carr and his wife Deborah of Wellesley and Michael Carr of Centerville; her grandchildren Michael and Lauren O’Donnell, Meaghan and Tony DiLallo, Brian and Mindy O’Donnell, Katharine Carr and her fiancé Brian Tyler and Andrew and Colin Carr; her nine great grandchildren; a sister Anne (Gorman) Bairstow; many beloved nieces and nephews; and sisters in law Barbara Maloney and Mary Maloney. She was the former wife of the late George Carr and sister of the late Charles “Buddy” Maloney, Francis Maloney and Catherine Crawford.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:00am. Burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon.
