SPENCER: Donald R. Howard,73, of 215 Charlton Rd., died Thursday, Dec. 18 at his home.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Jacklynn M. (Fahey) Howard, three sons Michael Howard of Rochdale, David Howard and his wife Pamela of Cherry Valley, and George Parkin, Jr. and his wife Holly of Spencer, seven daughters Eileen Henderickson and her husband Wayne of Auburn, Kelli-Ann Wright and her husband William of Rochdale, Patricia Joyce and her husband Francis of Leicester, Kristene St. Peter and her husband James, Carol Southworth, Barbara Parkin and Wendy Kelley and her husband Stephen all of Spencer, 15 grand children, 2 great grand children, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Geralyn Veroneau.
Donald was a painter and wallpaperer for the Painter's Union, Local 48 in Worcester for many years, he then owned and operated Don Howard & Son Painting until his re 1994. He was co-owner of Newell's News in Spencer from 1994-99.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Edward F. and Helen (Edgerly) Howard. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and later served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed bowling and golf and was an enthusiastic Red Sox Fan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 22 at 10a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 1 to 4p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to V.N.A. Care Network Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608.
