Marjorie Griner Pope, 79, of Millen, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 16 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, December 19 at Millen Cemetery in Millen, Georgia with Rev. Christy Bandy officiating. The family will receive friends at Millen United Methodist Church Parlor one hour before the service.
Ms. Pope was born March 7, 1929 in Hilltonia, Georgia, to the late John and Doris Waters Griner. She was a former nurse at Thompson Hospital, a former secretary for the Thomson Company and the city of Millen. She was a former employee of Family and Children Services and Ogeechee Mental Health in Millen. Ms. Pope was a member of the Millen United Methodist Church, the Epworth Bible Class, the Joy Circle and the Monday Morning Prayer Group.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, George W. “Buddy” Pope, III of Atlanta and Johnny C. & Stephanie Pope, Sr. of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Heather Renee (Scott) Cameron of Alexandria, VA, Sabrina Paige Pope of Tifton, Johnny C. Pope, Jr., Robert Stephen Pope and Jahyna Elizabeth Pope all of Fitzgerald and great grandchildren, Hayden Cameron and Lilly Cameron. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
