Lillian F. (Frola) Barnes, 85, of New Bedford died Sunday December 14, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Chester W. Barnes.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Vincent and Teresa (Baravalle) Frola, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Barnes was formerly employed as an assembler for John I. Paulding Company.
She was a active member of U.A.W. Retirees Association and was an avid reader.
Survivors include two sons, John V. and James P. Barnes, both of New Bedford; two grandchildren, John and JoAnn Barnes; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cody.
She was the mother of the late Thomas A. Barnes and the sister of the late Mary Antoinetta and Anna Castellina.
A private family funeral service was held on Thursday morning at Rural Cemetery.
