John Alden Cook, age 44, of Rte. 117, North Road, Groton, a member of the Eastern Pequot Nation and a Foxwoods Employee, died at his home on Monday.
He was the husband of Susan (Hoffmeister) Cook.
Born in New London, he was the son of the late George and Doris (Wilson) Cook. A lifelong resident of Groton, he graduated from Fitch High School in 1976.
In his spare time, John was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, John leaves two children, Brandon S. Cook and Jessica L. Cook, both of Groton; his stepchildren, Zachary L. Mullen of W. Warwick, RI and Amber S. Mullen of Canterbury, Ct., his siblings, George E. Cook of Mystic and Carol Cook Whitfield of Coventry, RI, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 5:30-7:45pm. A Service will immediately follow at 8pm. Burial is private for the immediate family.
The family requests that in lieu of cut flower arrangements, remembrances of outdoor live plants or flowers be sent for planting in a memorial garden in John’s memory.
