Mrs. Roxie B. Shepherd, 84, of Ocilla died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Osceola Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, December 18 at Eureka Cemetery in Irwin County with Rev. Huey Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Shepherd was born January 13, 1924 in Turner County to the late William “Will” and Nancy Jane Tucker Dyess. She moved to the Irwin County community in 1969. Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker, a former employee of Modern Fibers and sold Avon for over 25 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Shepherd is survived by a nephew, James (Doris) Dyess of Ocilla; nieces, Bonnie (Neil Gentry of Fitzgerald and Carol (Doug) Bowen of Ocilla. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, James A. Shepherd, Jr.
