Robert W. Gimler, 59, a longtime resident of Mansfield died unexpectedly on Monday, December 15 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Jackson) Gimler. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Foxboro High School and Lesley University. He was a resident of Mansfield for 25 years after growing up in Foxboro. Mr. Gimler was a cost estimator for Senior Aerospace in Sharon for 12 years. He had formerly worked at the Northrop Company in Norwood for many years. An avid fisherman, he loved trips to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gimler is survived by his sons, Ryan W., Erik J. and Craig A. Gimler all of Mansfield, Robert, Sean and Derek Gimler. He was the son of Elizabeth “Betty” (MacRae) Gimler of Foxboro and the late Robert L. Gimler. He was the brother of Paul and Eric Gimler both of N. Attleboro and Bruce Gimler of Foxboro.
His funeral, to which relative and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, December 19 at 11 AM from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12 Noon in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Rt. 106), Mansfield. Visiting Hours Thursday, December 18 from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro. Donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Kevin M.
