Cecelia (Motta) Borges, 90, of New Bedford died December 14, 2008 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Borges.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Oliveira) Motta, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Borges was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
She was formerly employed as a stitcher with several local textile mills for many years until retirement.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Gaudet of New Bedford; a step-son, William Borges of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George Motta, Manuel Motta, Jr., Hilda Lima, Elsie Pacheco, Mary Carvalho and Grace Ramos.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, December 16th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, December 15th from 4-7 PM.
