Ernest W. “Bill” McDole, 79, of Attleboro formerly of Roslindale passed away on Friday December 12, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital in Brighton. For the past 50 years he was the beloved husband of Anna (Nosalek) McDole.
Born in Owenton, Kentucky on August 10, 1929 he was a son of the late William R. and Mary E. (Diarmit) McDole.
He grew up in Kentucky and was educated in Kentucky schools. Mr. McDole later enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country for over 20 years before honorably retiring from the armed forces On November 1, 1967 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Bill was a very family oriented man and his family meant the world to him. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed doing projects around the house but most of all being with his wife, children and grandchildren were his favorite times. He had made his home in Attleboro for the past 14 years and was a former 25 year resident of Roslindale.
In addition to his beloved wife Anna he is survived by his devoted children Sheila Hedgepath of Tennessee, Zdena Beaudry of Attleboro, Angela S. Capone of Lynn and Alex McDole of Attleboro. He is also survived by his sister Ida Whitaker of Ohio, his cherished 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday December 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will military honors will follow in the North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 17th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
