Ralph E. Carter, 91, of Little Compton, RI passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Newport Hospital. Born in Little Compton, son of the late Edith (Carter) Almy, he had lived in Little Compton for most of his life. A veteran of WWII, he served in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a driver for a garage service company, and also worked for Continental Screw Company, Firestone and the Acoaxet Club. Mr. Carter was a member of the Little Compton United Congregational Church. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Survivors include a brother: Albert Almy of Tiverton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton at 1:00 P.M.
