Edmund “Eddie” Gennetti passed away on December 9, 2008 at the Winchester Hospital. He was 87 years old.
Born in Malden, Eddie was a longtime resident of Malden and Medford. He retired as a supervisor from the Converse Rubber Co. where he worked for over 50 years. Eddie was a member of the V.F.W. of Medford, the American Legion and the Italian American Citizens Club. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Eddie was married to Theresa “Terry” (Bagdigian) Gennetti for 61 years. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Marianna Gennetti and the beloved father of Dawna DiOrio and her husband Ronald of Billerica, Lois Reilly of Malden and her late husband John, and Edmund Gennetti Jr. and his wife Debra of Tewsksbury. Eddie was the dear brother of Edith Falcone, Anna Puleo, Teresa Smith, Nancy Cagno, Salvatore “Butch” Gennetti and the late Daniel Gennetti, Jean Sacco, Henry Gennetti and Mary Giarratana. He was the cherished grandfather of Luba and Kristina DiOrio, John and Erin Reilly, Cherisse Fitzpatrick and Jarrod Gennetti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday December 13th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday, December 12th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
