WORCESTER-Gordon F. Chicoine, 69 of 23 Strathmore Road, died Monday, December 31st in UMass-Memorial Healthcare-University Campus after being stricken at home. He leaves a brother Gerald J. Chicoine with whom he lived, 2 sisters Helen C. Cooper and Viriginia A. Gavin both of Worcester, 3 nieces Nancy Trottier of Pearland, TX, Patricia Conti of Massapiqua, NY and Ann Marie Hess of Bohemia, NY, a nephew Paul Chicoine of Massapiqua, NY. A brother Bernard P. Chicoine of Massapiqua, NY died in 1993.
He was born in Worcester the son of Paul H. and Mildred E. (Stone) Chicoine. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the Army in Germany. Mr. Chicoine had been traffic manager for Johnson Steel & Wire Company for 29 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid gardener.
The funeral will be Friday, January 4th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in St. Roch’s Cemetery in North Oxford. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 3rd.
