Julio J. Farulla a longtime Needham resident died at his home on Wednesday April 30th. He was 71 years old. Mr. Farulla received his B.A. degree from Boston University and attended the Masters Program at the University of Rhode Island. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Farulla was retired from Boston Safe Deposit and Trust as a Vice President in the Financial Services division. He was a former Treasurer of the Town of Needham in that late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Julio was very active in many municipal and civic organizations. He was a member of the Norfolk Municipal Finance Officers Association, a Past Grand Knight of the Needham Knights of Columbus Council #1611, a Past President of the Needham Lions Club, member of the VFW Manson H. Carter Post #2498, member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and a former member of the Needham Rotary Club. He also was a Needham Town Meeting member for many years. The beloved husband of Barbara R. ( Donovan), he also leaves his children Diane M. Fullerton and her husband Calvert of Taunton, Joseph L. Farulla and his wife Brenda of Norwood and Elayne M. Farinella and her husband Dominic of Canton. He was the brother of N. Rose Ciccone and her husband Frank of Billerica, and the late Pat Farulla. He was the cherished grandfather of Kara, Joseph, Christina, Angela, Joseph, Marisa and Gina. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Monday may 5th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Joseph Church at 10 AM.
