Obituary

ST. PETERSBURG, FL-Gladys M. (Foisy) Dandro, 85 of 4728 20th Avenue North, formerly of Worcester and Spencer died Wednesday, April 30th in St. Petersburg General Hospital. Her husband of 22 years, Francis Dandro died in 1961. She leaves a son, Roger F. Dandro of St. Petersburg with whom she lived and a sister, Claire G. Huckins of Oxford; a nephew, 2 nieces, 2 grandnephews, 3 grandnieces, 2 great grandnephews and 2 great grandnieces.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of George H. and Celina (Daigneault) Foisy and lived in Worcester and Spencer for many years before moving to Florida in 1966. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Family High School and Becker Junior College both in Worcester. Mrs. Dandro worked as a bookkeeper for Catholic Charities in the St. Petersburg Diocese retiring in 1984. Previously, she worked for Norton Company in Worcester. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle and was former secretary and treasurer of it’s Women’s Guild. She was regent for 6 years of the Catholic Daughters of America Court of St. Ann 1645 and the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Dandro received a papal blessing in 1984 after retiring from Catholic Charities.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, May 6th at 12:15 PM in Notre dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 6th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester.
