Joyce M. Delanux, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Private Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Delanux was born April 26, 1930 in San Jose, California to the late Charles Robert and Edith Wescott Witty. She was an Air Force wife traveling to many parts of the world with her husband and family. She had lived in many places including: Morocco, Thailand, Japan, Portugal, and Spain to name a few. She was former owner/operator of The Iron Gate in Newark, California. She had lived in the community for the past 9 months coming from California.
Mrs. Delanux is survived by her children: Ronald James & Mache Clayton of Hayward, CA, Charlie Clayton of Minnesota, Frank Clayton, Peggy Delapp and fiancé Michael Parker of Oakland, CA, Kathleen Hagerman, and Eddie & Linda Hagerman of Fitzgerald; 47 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: James George. She was preceded in death by her husband: William F. Delanux; three children: Janice Thompson, Dennis Clayton, and Elizabeth Clayton; as well as one brother and one sister.
