Michael P. DiLeonardo, 83, of Franklin, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Milford Regional Medical Center from a ruptured abdominal aneurysm. He was surrounded by his family and his wife of more than 53 years, Mary L. (Petrovski) DiLeonardo.
Born in Franklin, November 6, 1925 a son of the late Michael P. and Enes (Bertochi) DiLeonardo, he was raised and educated in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School class of 1943.
Mr. DiLeonardo retired in 1988 from the Foxboro Co. where he worked for over 25 years. He lived in Franklin for most of his life, having lived for several years in Plainville before returning to Franklin a few years ago.
He was an avid sportsman and was a life member of the Franklin Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed cooking, and was a longtime volunteer cook at the Rod & Gun Club and at various Franklin Senior Citizen events. He was also a life member of the St. Anthony & Columbus Benevolent Society in Franklin, and was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
He was a loving husband and father.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters: Christine M. DiMartino and her husband Donald of Franklin, and Maryann Black and her husband David of Bellingham. His sister Maria Palumbo of Wareham.
He was the brother of the late Baldo and Anthony DiLeonardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral, Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 8:15 AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
