Obituary

Isabelle (Veroneau) Bowes, 99, of Manchester, died December 5, 2008 at the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester.
Born in Pembroke on August 27, 1909, she was the daughter of Udgere and Jennie (Cox) Veroneau.
A graduate of Hesser Business College, Mrs. Bowes was employed as assistant secretary for several years by the former New Hampshire Manufacturers’ Association and retired from the Federal Housing Administration after 28 years of employment with Federal Government.
Mrs. Bowes was a long time communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral and was one of the oldest members of the Parish. She was a member of St. Anne Guild and also the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Bowes in 1977.
She is survived by one nephew, Michael J. Donahue of North Hampton; two nieces, Patricia T. Castrucci of Laconia and Mary T. Castrucci of Milford, MA; many grand and great nephews and nieces whom she loved. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Trombly, Laura Donahue, her brother Lawrence Veroneau, and her nephew Richard Trombly.
The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Monastery of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge St, Manchester, NH, 03104 or to the charity of one’s choice.
