WORCESTER-Marija (Sekulovski) Tonevski, 84, of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, December 4th, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Jovan Tonevski; two daughters, Niki Chevrevski and her husband Alex of Boylston and Ruli (Zaharia) Trajanovski and her husband, Dobre of Wells, ME; two sons, Leo and his wife Tina Tonevski of Holden and George “Yorgo” Tonevski of Worcester; a sister Vasilka Lazaroff of Akron, OH; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and many nephew and nieces.
She was born in Prilep, Macedonia the daughter of Donka and Petre Sekulovski; and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1969. Marija was a hardworking and caring woman who greatly loved her family. She spent many years happily gardening, cooking, knitting, taking care of her grandchildren and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
The funeral is Monday, December 8th with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street, Shrewsbury. Calling hours are Sunday, December 7th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A Trisagion Service will be conducted at 6:00 PM. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
