Margaret Duke, age 81, of Water Valley, MS died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. Margaret was born June 5, 1927 in Lambert, MS to Bailey P. and Fannie Stewart Horton. She worked at Big Yank and Holley Carburetor in Water Valley and was a member of Springdale Worship Center.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating. Burial will follow the service in Tabernacle Cemetery in Yalobusha County.
Mrs. Duke is survived by three daughters, Ann Perkins of Scobey, MS; Kathy McCharen of Water Valley, MS and Judie Davis of Cusetta, GA; four sons, Daniel M. Duke, Jr., of Hernando, MS, Roger Duke of Water Valley, MS, Lynn Duke of Edwards, MS, and David Duke of Scobey, MS; three sisters, Helen Pollock of Horn Lake, MS, Charlotte Butts of Southaven, MS, and Betty Moore of Philadelphia, MS; two brothers, Henry Horton of Horn Lake, MS and Bobby Horton of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her husband, D. M. Duke; one daughter, Wanda Ruth Hoase; and three brothers, J. C. Horton, B. P. Horton, and Jack Horton.
