Simone C. Dube, 69, formerly of Providence St., Woonsocket, died Tuesday at St. Antoine Residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Edmond Dube to whom she was married on Aug. 29th, 1959 and who died in 2002.
Born in Sully, P.Q., Canada, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lauretta (Bourque) Cloutier. She resided in Canada until moving to Woonsocket with her family in 1970.
Mrs. Dube worked as a quality control inspector for W.A. Wilde Co. for many years. She previously worked in the dietary dept. at the Fogarty Hospital for several years. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, and participating in various activities in the Cumberland and Woonsocket Seniors clubs, especially the library book club and the scrabble club.
Simone loved being around people and she will be remembered as an active and outgoing person who easily made friends.
Her family was the center of her life and she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Jean Francois Dube, and his wife Susan, of Cumberland, Benoit Dube, and his wife Amy, of Manville, Richard Dube, and his companion Lynn, of Uxbridge, two daughters, Suzanne Rabitaille, her husband Raymond, of Mapleville, and Helene Robichaud, and her husband Gerard, of Woonsocket, 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. She was the sister of Ronald Cloutier of FL, Raymond Cloutier of Chicopee, MA., Real, and Andre Cloutier, both of Canada, Sr. Marie-Paul Cloutier, SRM., Aline Dubuc, Lucie Cloutier, Odette Laflamme, Yolande Gosselin, Joycelyne, Rachelle, and Madeleine Cloutier, all of Canada, and the late Roger and Jackqueline Cloutier.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 pm in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
