Andover, MA – Steven M. Coates, 45, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family and friends, after a short and courageous battle with (ALS) Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Steve was born in Boston, and raised in Andover, graduating from Andover High School in 1981.
Steven was the owner and operator of Green Ridge Landscaping of Andover and Design and recently celebrated their 23rd year in business.
Although Steve enjoyed traveling his true passions were spending time with his family, friends and his work.
Steve was predeceased by his mother Dorothy and his sister Janet M. Coates.
He is survived by his father Howard Myles Coates of Andover, his brother Myles and his wife Martha Coates of Methuen and their children Catherine, Christine and Myles who loved their Uncle very much.
Steve is also survived by cousins, aunts and uncles as well as many longtime
friends who will miss him dearly.
In his spare time Steve loved to listen to James Taylor, and Jimmy Buffett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 12 Noon in Saint Augustines Church of Andover with burial to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
