ROCKLAND, ME – Mary K. (Dineen) Haggar, 83, a former long-time resident of Rugby Street in Worcester, passed away on December 1st, just three days shy of her 84th birthday. She was the daughter of Harold and Katherine Dineen, of Biddeford, ME. She was a loving mother, wife and aunt and will be greatly missed. Born and raised in Biddeford, ME, Mary graduated from Biddeford High School in 1942. She then worked for a number of years as a clerical supervisor at Wright Line in the Biddeford/Saco area. In 1952, while enjoying a day at Old Orchard Beach with some friends, she met her husband to be. The rest is history and at the age of 29 she married John C. Haggar and moved to Worcester. John and Mary were married for 43 years before John’s passing in 1997. Mary was a long-time member of Saint Stephen’s Parish in Worcester. In December 2006 Mary moved to Rockland, ME to live with her daughter Anne C. Haggar.
Mary dedicated her life to her family. She leaves her two daughters, Anne C. Haggar, of Rockland, ME and Patricia E. Haggar, of Wynnewood, PA, and Patricia’s husband Robert N. Glover. She also leaves her sister-in-law Rita Haggar, of Worcester and a number of nieces and nephews in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Mary was predeceased by her parents and her three brothers, George Dineen, Robert Dineen and Charles Dineen. All of her family will miss her Christmas cookies and her delicious holiday cooking.
A Funeral will be held Thurs., Dec. 4, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Mary will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Mausoleum. Visiting Hours are Wed., Dec. 3, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
