GELZINIS,KAREN P. (CUDDYER) age 57 peacefully at home after a long illness, November 28, 2008, beloved wife of Peter P. Gelzinis of South Boston, devoted mother of Peter P. Gelzinis IV; dear daughter of Rita A. (Burnett) & the late Robert Cuddyer of South Boston; loving sister of Geraldine, Kevin Cuddyer, Joan McColgan & her husband Donald, Donald Cuddyer & his wife Mary Ellen, Jean Boutin & her husband Robert, all of South Boston, Barbara Sampson of Quincy, Robert Cuddyer & his wife Debbie of Braintree, sister in law of Jane (Gelzinis) & John Kisielius of Quincy, great niece of the late Peg & Nora Coyne of South Boston, Mary Catherine & Sister Ann Ragan of Falmouth, ME; aunt of Jessica & Jennifer Boutin, Kaitlin, Ryan, & Sean McColgan, Rory & Ainsley Cuddyer, Aaron & Meghan Sampson, Robert, Colleen, & Owen Cuddyer, James & Brian Cuddyer, John, Katie & Julie Kisielius, grand aunt of Isabella Thomas; beloved teacher & friend of Claudine Humure, Rwanda. Karen also leaves many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, & students who were blessed to have her in their lives. Her family wishes to express their profound gratitude to Dr. Katie Wakeley & the dedicated staff of Tufts Medical Center Gyn-oncology unit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory can be made to St. Augustine Food Pantry, 70 Devine Way, South Boston, MA, 02127. Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Casper Funeral; Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Wednesday 2-8 PM & Karen's Funeral Mass in St. Monica's Church, Thursday, December 4, at 10 AM. Interment services are private.
