Obituary

Paul F. Murphy, of Medford, passed away Saturday, November 29, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. The beloved husband of Jeanette (Bell) Murphy, he was sixty-seven years of age.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Marie G. and Francis X. Murphy. He attended Somerville schools and graduated Somerville High School with the class of 1959. He went on to earn an engineering degree from Northeastern University and his perseverance rightly earned him a Master’s degree in business. He worked for some time with a number of electronic companies and became an innovator and expert in infrared technology.

Paul later started his own company SensArray of Burlington specializing in infrared technology serving government and defense department contracts along with international interest.

Paul who was known never to be inactive, was a contributor to the Medford community, as a current member of the Board of Appeals, the Democratic Ward and City committee, the Medford Kiwanis club and was appointed by former Governor Michael Dukakis to the Metropolitan Planning Council and serves as a small business advisor to the Department of Homeland Security.

A Medford resident for over thirty-three years he enjoyed being with his family and friends, smoking a cigar, playing golf, but most of all being with his beautiful grandchildren and wife.

Along with his wife Jeanette, Paul is survived by his son Robert of Medford, his daughter Shannon Boudreau and her husband Brian of Windham, NH. His loving grandchildren, Robbie and Liam Murphy, Renee and Hunter Boudreau. His two brothers; Robert Murphy and his wife Barbara of Gloucester, Kevin Murphy and his wife Colleen of Yarmouthport. Also many loving nieces and nephews.


His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home. 306 Main St. Medford on Wednesday, December 3, at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St Medford at 9. Services will conclude at Oak Grove Cemetery. Medford.


Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 2, from 3 to 8.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent in Paul's memory to the Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Rd. Burlington, MA 01875
