Daniel W. “Dan” Walker, 53, of Kingston Rd., Plaistow, NH, died Saturday, April 26, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. He was born in Rural-Port Angeles, WA on December 16, 1949, a son of Helen Walker and the late James E. Walker. Dan, as he was known, grew up in Sunnyside, WA, and had lived in Oregon until moving to Plaistow about a year ago. He was employed as the library director for the Kimball Public Library in Atkinson, NH. Over the past 26 years, Dan had worked in public, corporate and school libraries and had experience in working to get new libraries built.
He is survived by his wife Joanne (Brownlee) Walker of Plaistow, his mother of Hillsboro, OR, one sister, Sharon Walker of Hillsboro, OR, two brothers, John Walker of Gladstone, OR, Vic Walker of Walla Walla, WA, several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements.
