John Dolphus Glass, 88, Clarksville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Dr. Jeff Burris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday and from 12 P.M. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Montgomery county on Jan. 7, 1920 son of Lee Roy Glass and Alice Lewis Glass. He was preceded in death by parents, his wife Dorothy Stanfill Glass, daughter Marie Glass, sisters Leroyce G. Felts, Beatrice G. Harper and Betty G. Berdini. He was a retired clerk with the US Postal Service. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem, American Legion, V.F.W. and Postal Clerks Union of Clarksville,TN. He is survived by one son John J.(Patricia) Glass of Clarksville, three daughters Dianne L. Glass of Southside, Betty G. (Stan) Leimer of Southside, and Mary G. (Dan) Capen of Clarksville. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
