Anne M. Giovino, 91

Anne. M. (Geraci) Giovino, 91, of Mansfield died peacefully on Saturday November 29, 2008 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando L. “Tippy” Giovino who passed away on February 26, 1998. Mr. and Mrs. Giovino were married on April 29, 1956
Born in Boston, MA on November 3, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Demma) Geraci.
She grew up in the South End section of Boston and Medford. Anne was educated in Medford schools and had also attended the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. During WWII she proudly served her country in the United States Coast Guard and was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Austria.
In addition to raising her family and being an awesome wife and mother, Mrs. Giovino had worked as an Administrative Secretary for Gardiner & Preston Moss in Boston before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Anne had an artistic side to her and received much joy in participating in her children’s activities while they were growing up. She had made her home in Mansfield for over 50 years.
She is survived by her devoted children Nancy Giovino of Mansfield and Rob Giovino of Providence, R.I. She was the sister of Lee Pothier of Reading and the late Mary Geraci, Lillian Rancatore and Kay Coppola, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a prayer service in celebration of her life “Under The Tent” at her home at 248 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield on Saturday December 6th at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Following the burial services at St. Mary’s Cemetery all are invited back to her home for a time of refreshment and fellowship.
Those attending Anne’s services are requested by her family to please “Dress Casually”. Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers her family has asked that donations in her memory be made to Bristol Elder Services 1 Father DeValles Blvd, B-8 Suite 101 Fall River, MA 02723, Attention: Kristy Canastra.
