Albert F. Mayo, Sr., 93

Albert F. Mayo, Sr., 93, of Mansfield died on Friday November 28, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances H. (McLaughlin) Mayo to whom he was wed to for 64 years at the time of her death on March 28, 1998.
Born in Provincetown, MA on January 8, 1915 he was a son of the late Frank and Katherine (Roan) Mayo.
He grew up in Provincetown and was educated in Boston schools. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged on November 20, 1945 with the rank of private.
Mr. Mayo was a retired Laborer having worked for the City of Boston for 20 years prior to retiring in 1974. He had lived in Mansfield for the past 35 years and was a former resident of the Dorchester section of Boston.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield he enjoyed cooking, watching old movies, reading and especially the wonderful times spent with his loving family.
He is survived by his devoted children Frances Biederman of New Hampshire, William Mayo of Boston, Katherine Bernner of Norton, Ann Solano of Middleboro, Allan Mayo of Quincy, Donald Mayo of Mansfield, Roberta Mayo of Mansfield and the late Albert Mayo, Jr., Frederick Mayo, Lawrence Mayo and Diane Galley. He was the brother of Catherine Mansfield of Burlington, Edna Roderick of Marshfield, Frank Mayo of Virginia and the late Lawrence Mayo and Mildred Ribiero, also surviving are many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday December 2nd at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St.(Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 1st from 4-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
