James M. “Jimro” Griffiths, of Woburn, died suddenly, Sunday at the Winchester Hopital. He was the son of the late Ambrose and the late Dorothy (Mahoney) Griffiths. Mr. Griffiths was born in Somerville and brought up in Charlestown. He attended Christopher Columbus school in Boston and moved to Medford and graduated from Medford High School.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Jim was a member of many social clubs including the Italian Community Club of Gloucester, the Polish Club of Peabody, the Hibernian AHO of Peabody and the Peabody Elks. He started Jimro Electric and was a well known electrician throughout the area. He has lived in Woburn for the last 36 years.
Mr. Griffiths is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Strazzulla) and five loving children, Michael J., Scott V., Stephen R., Kimberly A., and Dennis A. Griffiths, all of Woburn, eight loving grandchildren Stephen, Joey, Michael, Christopher, Taylor, Amber, Michael, and Katelind Griffiths. Also survived by a brother David Griffiths of Sarasota, FL., and a sister of Centerville, MA. Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday at 9AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated at St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wed 4 thru 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Late US Army Veteran, Vietnam War.
