Mrs. Edythe J. Rocco, 85 of Medford, died Monday in the Beth Israel Deaconess Med. Center in Boston. She is the wife of the late Joseph E. Rocco. Mrs. Rocco was born in Boston, the daughter of the late James and Maria (Taraborelli) Galante. In earlier years she worked as a Salesperson, employed by Filenes.
Mrs Rocco enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, cooking, vacationing in Puerto Rico, playing cards with her family, and theatre. She also was known as an avid reader and enjoyed doing crosswords. She will be remembered as a loving family person and a doting Grandmother to her loving grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter: Lorraine Lynch and her husband David of Tewksbury, two sons: Edward Rocco and his wife Patti of North Reading, and Joseph Rocco of Medford. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
She is the sister of Marie Hill of Columbia, SC and the late Arthur and Susan Galante, Vera Venezia, and Jean Figaratto. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that donations in Edythe’s memory may be sent to the Italian Home For Children, 1125 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
