TAUNTON– Etelvina (Silva) Moitoso, wife of the late Manuel P. Moitoso, died on Sunday November 23rd at Morton Hospital. She was 76.
Born in Fayal, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Florinda Silva.
Educated in the Azores, she moved to this area in 1960.
An employee of Eureka Manufacturing in Norton for over 20 years, she retired in 2001.
She was a communicant of St. Andrew Church, Taunton (formerly St. Joseph Church).
She leaves a daughter, Fatima Moitoza of Taunton; a brother, John Silva of E. Providence; 3 sisters Leotilde Silva and Manuela Faria both of Taunton, and Angela DeCosta of Bristol, RI; a son-in-law, Gary Welch of Lynn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Mary (Moitoza) Welch, and the sister of the late Manuel Silva and Maria Vargas.
Her funeral mass will be held Wednesday Nov 26th at the former St. Paul Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
