Mr. Louis A. Ragusa Sr., age 68 of Medford died Sunday in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Catherine (Cahill) Ragusa with whom he shared more than 47 years of marriage.
Mr. Ragusa was born in Boston, son of the late Accurzio “Wally” and Nancy (Scutellaro) Ragusa and is a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, class of 1957. He is a former resident of Boston’s North End and has been a Medford Resident for over 37 years.
In earlier years he worked for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind. Later he worked as an exterminator and in 1992 he opened the Minuteman Pest Management Company in Medford. He enjoyed watching horse racing and spending quality time with his family. Foremost in his life were his beloved grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as “Papa”. He also leaves a son, Louis A. Ragusa Jr of Medford three daughters, Laura Brown and her husband Larry, of Medford, Stephanie Swanson and her husband Buzz of Gloucester, Julie Sutherland and her husband Chip of Medford. Adored “Papa” of Alexandra, Eddie, Louis and Harry. Dear brother of Phillip Ragusa and his wife Gloria of Wareham. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM.
