Edwin N. Ramos, age 70, of Somerset. Passed away in Fall River November 22, 2008 of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born in New Bedford, son of the late Dr. Edwin C. Ramos & Lurana A. (Peckham) Ramos. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1957 and was a parishioner of St. John of God Church in Somerset. Prior to retiring, Mr. Ramos was employed at Truesdale Hospital for 26 years and at Charlton Memorial Hospital for 14 years. He also did private home-care for 2 ½ years after retiring. Eddie loved caring for the elderly and babysitting for his great niece & nephew, Adrienne and Kyle Medeiros. Eddie also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his twin sister Joan C. Amaral of Swansea, one niece and six nephews, 17 great nieces & nephews, and a dear friend Andrea Barboza of Tiverton. He was also the brother of the late Carol M. Medeiros.
Following cremation, his funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Friday at 8:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment of cremains in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
