Obituary

Leola Luke Pridgen, 92, of Fitzgerald died Saturday, November 22 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, November 24 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev Charlie Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Old Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the funeral hour on Monday morning at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pridgen was born September 3, 1916 in Ben Hill County to the late Davis and Margaret Young Luke. She was employed for 25 years at Fitzgerald Mills as a spinner. She also worked as a nurse’s aid at the Colony Home and the Life Care Center. Mrs. Pridgen was a caring person who loved helping others. She was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of God.

She is survived by her daughter: Yvonne P. Clark of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jed Clark of Fitzgerald, Mike Pridgen of Selma, AL, Jennifer Revels and Jeffery Clark, both of Fitzgerald, and Renelle Hogan of Hahira; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Ether McGuire of Warner Robins; and a brother and sister-in-law: Milton & Nancy Luke of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester Pridgen; one son: Vernon Pridgen; son-in-law: L.H. Clark; a grandson: Warren Pridgen; one brother; and one sister.
