Obituary

Mrs. Jacqueline C. Curran, age 73, of Woburn formerly of Dracut, passed away Thursday November 20th at the Winchester Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Curran Jr. and together they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary this past July. Mrs. Curran was born in Lowell and was the daughter of the late Cecile J. (Dumont) and Thomas A. Golden.

"Jackie" as she was known to her family and friends, worked for over forty years as a legal secretary. She was a real people person and had many friends of all ages and back grounds. Following her career as a legal secretary she continued staying very active and loved volunteering her time with the Woburn Taxi Cab Program and especially loved working with the elderly clients she would come in contact with. She will be greatly missed.

Jackie was an avid reader and golfer and was a member of the Woburn Women’s Golf Association and served as the Association's Treasurer. Together with her husband Jackie enjoyed traveling and they shared many wonderful trips together with friends and family. One of Jackie's true joys was the Woburn Host Lions Club Halloween Parade when she would have all of her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews gather at her home for the day and in what became a family annual tradition.

In addition to her parents, Jackie is predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Lorraine Langland and her husband John, Sheila Richardson and her husband Edward. She also predeceased by her brother-in-laws John J. Fitzgerald and Richard Krawczyk. She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph F. Curran Jr., sisters, Patricia S. Fitzgerald, Celine Krawczyk, Donna Richardson and her husband Robert all of Dracut, and brother, John T. Golden and his wife Roberta of Windham, NH. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Dr. Kenneth J. Curran and his wife Jill of Florida and Gloucester and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Her funeral will be conducted from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Tuesday, November 25th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jacqueline's memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143 or to the MA Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc., c/o PDG William T.
